I am drawn to images that have feeling before they have an explanation. Texture, motion, and light can say so much without needing to spell everything out.
Following the Feeling
Not every photo needs to be sharp, clean, or perfectly still. Sometimes blur feels honest. Sometimes reflection adds mystery. Sometimes a small imperfection makes the image breathe.
Use texture with intention:
Fabric, skin, glass, water, pavement, paper — texture gives the viewer something to feel visually.
Let motion happen:
Movement can loosen up a frame. Ask for walking, turning, reaching, laughing, adjusting, trying again.
Watch what light reveals:
Light does not just make things visible. It decides what matters in the frame.
Making Images With Atmosphere
When I want a photo to feel more alive, I stop asking only, “Is this technically correct?” and start asking, “Does this feel like something?”
That question has helped me make work that feels more personal.
The technical side matters, of course. But the feeling is what makes someone stay with the image a little longer.
